Martha Longbrake Sports Memorial Grant

Sub-Saharan Africa

Martha Longbrake was passionate about children and loved seeing them learn and grow through sports. As a strong supporter of Lift Up Africa, Martha provided support to the communities through sports equipment and the opportunity for children to learn new games. On her trips to Kenya she provided various items including soccer balls and other equipment to the children in the villages she visited. Thanks to Martha the children had the opportunity to learn new games, how to play as a team and the importance of sportsmanship. This Award is in her honor to keep her legacy alive in the hearts of the children of Africa.

This grant will be awarded each year in the amount of $1,000 to a project of Lift Up Africa for the education of the children and/or sports equipment for their use. Grant requests will be reviewed by the LUA Director of Marketing and Projects with a recommendation to the LUA Executive Director. Grants will be made annually in June in honor of Martha.
