Knitting for African Children and Bibles for the Families

Various Villages, Kenya

Knitting for African ChildrenWomen of the First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue, Washington developed a program to knit school sweaters for the children of the Kaliluni Village in Kenya. These sweaters provided over 100 children the opportunity to attend school as the sweater is a required part of children’s school uniform. We are grateful to the Church group for their time and generous contribution. Changing lives one child at a time!

In addition, the Church provided resources so that 50 families were given a Bible that was translated into Swahili for their use. This gift provided the members of the family an opportunity to teach their children to read and speak Swahili and learn the history of the world. We are thankful for the gifts from the people of Bellevue, WA.
